Chapter 1: Introduction First you'll want to pick your starting traits. Pick up the upgrade orb and you'll get a short explanation. If this is your first time playing then you should take the Tough trait, as it will help a lot with early fights. Some traits will work really well together, such as Alcohol Intolerant and Alchemist. It really depends on your play style and how you intend to play. You may want to take a while to think about which traits you want. When you're finished simply proceed to the exit at the top of the room to start Sienna's adventure. After the cutscene you're free to walk around, but Sienna refuses to go far. Let's get the fight out of the way. Simply walk into the plant monster to start your first fight. Your first fight is against a mini-boss, but it's not that difficult. Sienna and Rosevynne will mention the burstshroom. Go ahead and attack the burstshroom with Sienna once. Then focus all of your attacks on the plant monster itself. If either character loses 50% or more of their hit points (called Vigor Points in FSA), then go ahead and use the Restore Vigor spell to heal. The fight shouldn't last long after the burstshroom explodes. You won't see burstshrooms again anytime soon, but you should remember how they work for future battles. If you lose the fight the game doesn't end. You will just miss out on some early experience, but it's not a big deal. After Rosevynne leaves the party you should open the green chest to claim your Hatchet. See the crate of apples to the right? Don't forget to grab those. You can also open the closed crate for random loot. You'll be finding a lot of crates like this one in the future, so don't worry too much if it's empty. If you equip the hatchet in your Shield / Tool slot, you can destroy empty crates, fallen logs, and dead trees. Sienna won't use the hatchet to cut down healthy trees, so don't bother trying. You should head back inside to pick up some important items. Sienna's House: Grab the Fairy Lantern from the table that's immediately above you. Sienna will automatically fill it. If you need to refill it again in the future, you can always use oil sources that look exactly like that, 3 bottles on a shelf. They are most often found near save locations. Speaking of save locations, there's one right now! Anytime you see a letter with an ink bottle and feather near it, that's a save spot. After you save your game, feel free to look around. Here's a list of the optional items you can find in Sienna's House: 50 Gold Coins 3 Bottles of Water 1 Bundle of Wood 2 Rolls of Cloth Poem Momento Holy Bible Rolls of Cloth and Bundles of Wood can be used to obtain 10 cloth or 10 wood, respectively. The Poem Momento and Holy Bible are optional. The Poem Momento will unlock the first CG artwork. Whether you pick up the Holy Bible or not is a reflection of how you want Sienna to behave. If you want a more religious Sienna, then you should take it with you. There are a few opportunties to pick it up again later on, as well as opportunities to get rid of it, should you change your mind. There is no wrong choice. You can also use Sienna's Dresser to change Sienna's current look (should you desire to run around naked, or in nothing but her purple boots). Due to obvious limitations, Sienna's avatar will either be nude or wear the entire outfit, and won't be nude unless there are no other outfit items on her. Sienna's image in the Informatory / Personal / Outfit & X-Ray, however, will always change to reflect which clothing items you've dressed her with, and also includes which wand you currently have equipped. There's also a small chest that you can use to replace your wand, should you break it. Once you're finished looting Sienna's house it's time to move on. At this point it would be a good idea to gather as many plants outside as you possibly can. There's a lot of them. Here's the total amounts you can find: 13 Mushrooms 5 Carrots 4 Onions 3 Potatoes 16 Wood from: 1 Chest, 1 Box, 3 Crates, 1 Barrel, 7 Logs and 1 Dead Tree There are also 4 hidden caves, which have a total of 2 Life Essence and 2 Magic Essence. These can be used to increase a character's maximum Vigor or Magic by 1 point. Alternatively, they can also be used to charge Spell Stones or sold for 25 Gold Coins each. You'll need to equip the fairy lantern in Sienna's Shield / Tool slot to enter the caves. Here are their locations using very crude coordinates. start from exiting Sienna's house: A: Down 1, Left 18 B: Down 14, Left 21 C: Up 2, Right 22 D: Down 14, Right 19 When you're ready to continue Sienna's journey, use the Hatchet to cup up the Log that's blocking the bridge to the West. Once you've done this, cross the bridge and go toward the cave. Rosevynne will stop you and have a short conversation. When you're ready, simply enter the cave. Tutorial Cave: Level 1 Lightlock Code: 123 POI-1: Green chest in SE corner contains the Pickaxe, which is required to destroy the NE rock and progress. Level 2 Lightlock Code: 726 Points of Interest: POI-1: Boss door. Dodge the balls he spits at you, then be prepared for a fight. During the fight, defend once the counter reaches "3". Save at least 4 magic points just in case you need to heal during the fight. Reward is 2 Upgrade Orbs. Level 2 SubA: PUZZLE SOLUTION: In the NW there's a cave behind a bricked up wall. Use the pick to destroy it. Inside you'll find a small puzzle. If you push one of the crystals inside a wall you'll have to flip the red switch to restart the puzzle. Move to the right side of the green crystal. Push it left once. Move above the green crystal, push it down once. Move left of the green crystal, then push it to the right until it lands on its proper slot. Move to the right of the blue crystal, push it left twice. Go counter-clockwise around the natural pillar that's to the left of you. You'll wind up underneath the blue crystal. Push it up once. Now go to the left of the red cystal and push it to the right twice, then go above it and push it all the way down into its slot. Finally, go under the blue crystal and push it up again, and then to the left. Once all 3 crystals are in place a chest will appear. Congratulations! Loot the chest for a random silver ring and equip it. Level 3 Lightlock Code: 115 Level 3 SubA: PUZZLE SOLUTION In the NE there's a cave behind a boarded up wall. Destroy it with the axe. Once inside, flip both switches. Go down and get the blue chest. Flip the green switch, then flip the red switch again. Now get the red chest. Level 4 Lightlock Code: 963 POI-1: To the left of the lightlock you'll see two boxes and a chest. Go over there and loot/use the axe to break the chest and first box. Now tear down the vines. If you don't have enough stamina you can either backtrack and sleep, or drink enough tonics to get 200 stamina. Once inside be sure to grab the upgrade orb. POI-2: Boss door. This fight is pretty straightforward. Be sure to return home and sleep for full stamina, as you can't sleep after the fight and you may want to collect some resources. You don't have to win the fight, but losing will mean losing out on a small gem bag and an upgrade orb. Just hit him with basic attacks and use your magic to heal. Don't worry about the poison. Use an antidote after the fight. Collect the upgrade orb and chest after the fight. Long Tunnel Explore west until you see a green chest. Don't open it! Turn around and go the other way. Collect and harvest everything you care to. Once you're finished then you can either go back to the green chest or try and refill your lantern to the East. It doesn't matter which one you try, as both are traps and end the chapter. The Tower The Tower is a test of player endurance. Dillon will constantly nag you to go eat, bathe, etc.. If you want a high relationship with him, then be nice. Otherwise, just refuse to do anything. It's pretty handy though to get free meals, so why not? At night, you'll be forced to visit "the doctor", who is actually more interested in Sienna's babies than he is in doing anything useful for Jennifer. Thankfully he is keeping the babies a secret from Jennifer, but he's also milking Sienna's poor body for as many babies as she could possibly produce, even giving her injections to hurry along the pregnancies. Feel free to make the most of your time while you're waiting to have all those babies, because the story won't progress until you have the last one! Each day you can take time to care for the cat girl who's chained up. It's not necessary, but doing so will allow Sienna to restore her (currently abysmally low) tranquility with kitty hugs! You can also take time to talk to each NPC that you'll find walking around The Tower lobby. Some will have new things to say each day, but others you'll be able to completely exhaust all of their dialogue in just one day, and they won't have anything new to say later. Talking to them can improve your relationship with them, which leads to alternate events. It's not important in the long run, so feel free to ignore them. Every chance you get, I suggest digging. Go to the NW through the double doors. Then go to the SW through the glowing exit. You'll come out on the Southwest corner of the tower. Now go down, all the way East, and then North a bit. You'll find a collapsed entrance with a nearby shovel. Sienna can dig this out, but it takes a while. Several days in fact. Just keep coming back here and digging until you manage to clear the hole. This will give you access to a sub area of the tower which is called The Cellar.
